Western Massachusetts Third Annual Basil Festival
Saturday, August 6, 2005     10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Three years ago, we decided to offer a festival celebrating the herb of the year. In 2003, that herb was basil. Our original intent was to change the honored herb each year, but so many of you wanted basil revisited, we decided to officially make this event a basil festival where we could highlight the herb of the year as well. Oregano is the official herb for 2005.

Visit our herb and vegetable garden where you’ll find twenty varieties of basil. Come to a demo to learn how many of those basils taste. Learn all about this fragrant and flavorful herb. We’ll have workshops and garden tours, a marketplace and a great view! Mill River Farm will offer a wide variety of herb and flowering plants for your to take back to your own garden.

Our Basil Garden Party Workshop is back by popular demand. Participants will learn tips for using basil and other herbs to bring wonderful flavor to foods. Recipes will be provided and participants will have the opportunity to taste all of the foods prepared. Cost is $30.00, and mail in registration is encouraged. Click here for Workshop Menu.

We hope that you can visit Stockbridge Farm for one or both of our summer events this year. There is no fee charged to come to our farm, take a garden tour, or attend a demo; there may be a nominal fee for workshops.
